Self exploration project

Here’s a few images of something I’ve been working on lately…me.  I’ve decided to turn the lens on myself, for a while.

Eric Ogden inspires me

Eric Ogden’s photo of Penelope Cruz (last photo) inspired my recent lighting set up. David Monahan is teaching a great studio lighting course in the Gallery of Photography and Emma kindly volunteered to be my model for the night while I tried out some fancy new lighting techniques. Here’s my take on this dark cinematic/photographic tale.

Dublin Turns Yellow for Daffodil Day

There are not many things that would get me out of bed at 430am.  Well maybe a trip to somewhere exotic or as happened this morning, doing a job for the Irish Cancer Society/GT Media.  I woke this morning and grabbed my camera and tripod and headed down to the Ha’Penny Bridge for a 5:30am start.  My job was to take photos of daffodils being strategically placed around Dublin city centre.  It’s the 25th Anniversary of this colourful fundraising event.  It’s still going strong.

Happy Daffodil Day!

My Kids Portraits as Fine art Makes the Dubliner’s Obsessed List!

Yay, the Dubliner magazine likes my “kids as fine art” portrait work.  Check out their Obsessed List in yesterdays magazine!  Happy days.

Limited edition signed prints of your kids

I’ve recently been commissioned to provide clients with art for their home that includes their children…an idea that marries my love for art and kids. Instead of having sometimes boring studio type shots of your children, they can now be part of collectable contemporary art! It’s something I’ve been working on for a while and now I’m so happy to be offering it to my art loving clients who also have kids! I’m doing portrait sessions with children and turning them into fine art collectable prints. The images are printed onto museum etching archival paper, limited editioned and signed by an award winning artist…ME! I’m really excited about it. Here are a few samples of recently commissioned pieces I’ve done for clients.

Manifest Gallery opening

Here are a few photos from my Ohio show Observed at the Manifest Gallery where one of my pieces from my Surveillance series is on show.  The gallery’s executive director said, ”

It was a great reception with over 175 people in attendance. The general opinion has been, by many, that this pair of exhibits is our best ever. (And we think we’ve had a pretty darned good track record as it is.) Thanks to you all for that!”

Cincinnati here I come!

Surveillance will be shown as part of the Manifest Gallery’s OBSERVED exhibition…in Cincinnati, Ohio!  So if you or someone you know happens to be around and about in Ohio next month, pop in and check it out.
